LC International Limited Fined £14 Million for Regulatory Failures

A regulatory review of LC International Limited (LCI), a Combined Remote Operating Licence holder, has led to a £14 million settlement following an investigation into their compliance with Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP). The review found that LCI failed to comply with specific LCCP requirements, including the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as social responsibility provisions.

Between December 2019 and October 2020, LCI was found to be non-compliant with several LCCP requirements, including paragraphs 1, 2, and 3 of licence condition 12.1.1, licence condition 12.1.2, and multiple social responsibility code provisions. As a result, the Gambling Commission required LCI to take remedial action.

In accordance with the Statement of Principles for licensing and regulation, LCI has agreed to divest itself of £544,048.03 and pay £13,455,952 in lieu of a financial penalty, resulting in a total payment of £14,000,000. This settlement also includes divestment, a public statement, variation to apply conditions to the licence, and commission costs.

Further details on this case can be found in the Gambling Commission’s public statement.

LC International on Bank Statement

When engaging in online gambling activities, it’s essential to understand that the name of the gambling firm and the operator might not be the same. For instance, you might make a deposit at BWin.com, but the transaction on your bank statement may appear as ‘LC International Limited’ since it is the operator behind the gambling site. LC International Limited operates several active domains, such as bwin.com, cheekybingo.com, coral.co.uk, foxybingo.com, foxygames.com, galabingo.com, galacasino.com, galaspins.com, gamebookers.com, ladbrokes.com, partycasino.com, partypoker.com, sportingbet.com, and www.partysports.com. They also have inactive domains like betdaq.com and sportingbet.uk. This discrepancy between the casino brand and the operator’s name can sometimes cause confusion when reviewing bank statements, so it’s crucial to be aware of the different names associated with your gambling activities.
